Some of you have very kindly raised money for us by holding sponsored
events and have come up with many other imaginative fund raising ideas. Thanks to
all those who have given their time, energy and money in helping us make a difference.
If you're thinking of holding some event, why not consider setting up a JustGiving page? It makes giving much easier and saves collecting cash too. And on top of that, Gift Aid can be automatically added to the donation.
Chari-Tea Party
In November 2009, the folks at Nature Publishing Group held another of their legendary Chari-Tea Parties and Cake sale where senior managers were on hand to serve tea and coffee. This event raised just over £500 on the day which was then very kindly matched by Macmillan publishers.
Village School Summer Fete
Our friends at the Village School, Hampstead in London held their summer fete on Saturday 20th June. They have created a cook book based on favourite recipes provided by some of the parents and children. Incredibly, they have donated the proceeds from the sale of the book to the Friends of Della and Don for which we're very, very grateful. The Village School and in particular Leila and Huma, have been amazing supporters and their efforts are overwhelming.
